Corner Combo

- In my mailbox freebies, I got a coupon for free Corner Combo. I got the salad combo, corned beef on caraway rye panini bread: a traditional sandwich of lean corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing with a side of season fruits. I bought a small drink, which is a good deal when there's free refills on the fountain drinks. There was pineapple in the fruit medley and I was totally bummed because I'm allergic to fresh pineapples, my tongue gets a rash. I got a plastic container at the place there where you can fill up your coffee cup, I like that they have a self serve place. They had things like condiments, jam, and crackers and I got some to take home. I put the pineapples in a little cup and gave it to my parents because I didn't want to waste them.

-Head to Corner Bakery to RSVP, hurry though spaces are limited. I got the Smoked Bacon Power Panini Thin - Made with smoked bacon, freshly scrambled eggs, parmesan and cheddar cheeses on thinly sliced whole grain harvest toast. I bought a small drink and got black currant iced tea mixed with pink lemonade! It was a perfect balance of sweetness, it was good.

- After I left Sonic, I went to Haagen Dazs since they were close by. I had the Vanilla Espresso, it has vanilla ice cream with espresso drizzled on it, then it's topped with 2 nilla wafers. Then it was topped with a generous amount of whip cream. The vanilla was sweet and the espresso was strong, it was best eaten together because they balance each other out. When the ice cream melted partway when I was eating it, I mixed the two together and drank it. It tasted like Starbucks Frappuccino lol. To recap, I got an email from Victoria's Secret saying they have shipped my prize: a VS PINK limited edition dog. I have already received it and it's this one in the picture.

When the VS Fashion Show sweeps was going on, I had won a $25 VS gift card and I have been waiting for it all this time. They are still shipping me the gift card and I can keep the PINK dog! What great customer service :)

I never actually ate at Panda Express until I was on a first date (he is now my BF of 3 years!). Now I eat there all the time and that's one of our favorite hangout spots. Anyways, on the back of your PE reciept is a phone # or website address to take their survey. I usually take the online survey, it's pretty short and it's worth it. You must take the survey within 2 days of your visit but the code they give you doesn't have an expiration date. My Bf and I usually get the 3 entree and share it.

Starbucks sampling event was from 1/12-1/14. You picked either blonde roast, medium roast or dark roast to sample in a little cup. I won 2 tickets to Six Flags last summer from My Coke Rewards. It was Coca Cola's anniversary and they were giving away tickets everyday in MCR's instant win game. I just gave it a shot my first time and couple minutes later I got an email saying I won!

My BF and I went to the same middle school and we didn't know each other at the time though. As part of our 8th grade graduation trip, we got to go to Six Flags and that was our first time going there. That was 13 years ago!

I went with my BF on new year's eve and the traffic going there wasn't bad at all and when we got to the park, there wasn't that much people either. It was so pleasant! My BF is an adrenaline junkie and I am a mild one. So he rode the little rides with me and when he rode the big rides, I would go through the exit and wait for him to finish.

It was a lot of walking too, which was great exercise! I planned this trip ahead of time and brought water bottles from home. We wanted to save money at the park too because theme park food is so expensive. We ate before we left too. So when it was closing time at 6, we were starving by then, we went to Monrovia and had Panda Express, I was craving it all day too.

My (4th generation) Ipod shuffle came in the mail today and I have a funny story to go along with it. My roommate told me that when the UPS guy came, he was so scared of the dog barking that he just chucked it towards the door because he was afraid of the dogs. LOL

The back of it is engraved, it's very unique and is a reminder to support breast cancer. This is the 4th generation and it has a button at the top, when you press it it will say the song that's playing.

My Couponing

I work on the dining table, I don't have enough room on my desktop table

I put the Red Plum and Smart Source in their own pile and I put stickies of the dates on them, so I can easily know the date in which I got the coupons. Then I put them in an accordian file in my couponing binder.

I have baseball card protector sheets (I found a pack of 10 at the Dollar Tree). The coupons I'm most likely to use, I cut and place in the protector sheets.

-These came and they were addressed to the previous owner of the house and the address was right. They don't live here anymore and I live with 3 men so, I don't think they would want this lol. I didn't know Schick gave out free razors on your birthday and these came when it wasn't my birthday lol. I have been using this and I love it! It's very convenient especially when you're showering and you don't want to fuss with the shaving lotion. The soap on the razor smells good and it goes nice and smooth.

I have been a big fan of Ikea, I just love their style and their furniture are affordable. When I moved out, I bought the MALM full size bed and bed slats. The bed was easy to assemble and I got the white one because it was the cheapest color lol. My BF bought 2 glass display cases (that he fills with"action figures") from there too.

I've also eaten there multiple times, one time my BF and I were shopping and we stopped at the Ikea cafe for a bite to eat. I got the Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberry. I also got the lingonberry juice, it's like a swedish style comfort food! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. :) I even have the cookbook that they made, it was on clearance so I bought it.

Wendy's Frosty keychain

I had a late dinner run to Wendy's because I was craving their spicy chicken nuggets (value menu) for some reason. That and I got my paycheck today and decided to celebrate by buying at Wendy's value menu. I was at the drive thru and there was a sign there about Frosty keychains for $1 and something about free frosty's. I got my spicy nuggets, a jr frosty for my BF and chicken wrap. I didn't get the keychain. I come home and look it up online and I find out the keychain is $1 and every visit to Wendy's you can get a free jr. frosty with any purchase when you show them your key tag. Expires December 2011! I am totally going there tomorrow to buy a keychain!

Woohoo I got straight A's last semester on the 2 classes I was taking! Been so busy, I haven't celebrated yet. Right now I am taking a summer class and it's like an accelerated class and it's only 5 weeks instead of 16 weeks. After that, I have the last class I need then I'll be getting my diploma after I finish in August. My college already had their graduation commencement last month so I will have to wait until next year to walk for my graduation. I'm planning to throw a party, that would be the first party I have ever thrown. I'm not really what you call a party girl but I just want to have a good time with my friends and family.

Green Hornet 3D & Carl's Jr.

On the Carl's Jr facebook page is the Wheel of Awesome (the star is so funny) and I won a free movie ticket to watch The Green Hornet in 3D. I won this back in December '10 and I saw the movie around February I think. I got the ticket mailed to my house. I went by myself since my BF was at work and when I got to the theater, it was only me and another group of people watching the movie. It was nice, I got to keep the 3d glasses and they were new. I think Seth Rogen did good in this movie and Jay Chou did very well considering he speaks mandarin. I wish I had that car and drive it like they did in the movie.

Carl's Jr restaurants were selling this keychain replica of black beauty and coupon booklets for $1.99. The coupons had 2 dvd/bluray coupons and 4 Carl's Jr coupons or Hardees coupons on the back side.

Here's a tip: The Carl's Jr that I go to near my house, gives me back the coupons after they've looked at them. It might be different depending on which one you go to. I just think it's so cool I can reuse their coupons!

I typically eat at Carl's Jr more than I do Mcdonald's (because of the coupon thing mentioned above and Mcd's doesn't really give out coupons) and the quality of their food. My favorite is the hand breaded chicken tenders and my new favorite is the Teriyaki Turkey burger.

Walmart Shopping Summary

Wal Mart doesn't accept coupons for free items, I learned that the hard way. I had 3 (free item) coupons for 1 box of the Purina One Beyond cat food, 1 box of Philsbury Toaster Strudel and 1 Orbit gum. I got to the checkout and the lady told me that the store doesn't take them. So I told her I didn't want to get the items, I'll just find another store that will take free item coupons. Anyway I was in the pet section and a lady walked up to me and gave me 2 free samples of Purina One Beyond cat food and 4 $1 off coupons! While I was there I bought AllYou magazine. They ran out of the Sunday LA Times so I went to a liquor store and then went home.

I was happily clipping away coupons and organizing them, I was also looking online for the store ads and reading blogs that have scenarios. I also made a shopping list so I don't forget what to get.

Groupon: Kyochon Chicken Review

Mango dipping sauce :)

I got the Sal Sal (crispy rice fried chicken) Chicken combo (drink + side). The side I got is broccoli with raisins and brown rice. The broccoli was crunchy and the raisins were sweet. I finished it all.

I also got garlic chicken signature wings (4 pcs.) & soy signature wings (4 pcs.)

Back in January, I bought a deal from Groupon: $7 for $15 worth of food. I decided to use it now because I wanted to try something new, it's all the way in Cerritos though. When I bought it, they had a location in Rowland Heights, that's mostly why I bought it too. But the RH locations closed down. So, this location is Cerritos was in the food court of the Cerritos Mall. I didn't finish it and I ended up taking it with me, I was walking around smelling like garlic lol.

The chicken wings were good, not too oily and the meat is tender. The Sal Sal chicken strips were crunchy and the crispy rice is a healthy alternative. As I was eating it, I wondered to myself if I can make this and I think I should try. :)

Lancome Genifique & foundation

I went in Macy's to the Lancome counter and redeemed my coupon for the free 7 day sample of Lancome Genifique. When I got the free sample of Origins Planscription serum, my face had an allergic reaction. That's not the only time though, before I used Bare Minerals face moisturizer and my face also had an allergic reaction. My face gets little bumps and it's red. I hope this one won't make me allergic. The lady that helped was very nice, she also gave me a sample of their foundation. I'm going to try the Genifique before I go to sleep tonight.

Tips for using your coupons at the Check out

- When you're at the drive thru (ex. Carl's Jr) and using coupons tell them ahead of time you are using coupons before ordering. I'm just speaking from experience because one time I was at Wendy's and I got to the second window to pay and I told the person I have a coupon and he was like, "why didn't you tell me before?" He was pretty agitated and I had to wait until he added the coupon to my order. I even had to park in the parking lot and wait some more. One of the people that work there came out and brought me my food to my car though.

-When you're at the store (ex. Target) at the checkout, tell the cashier you have coupons after they have scanned all your items. You can place the coupons on the conveyer belt and the cashier will spot them and set them aside. I get paranoid though that the coupons will go through the conveyer belt and get lost in there, so I tend to place them on the items.

Couponing

I was flipping through the channels one day when I came across the TLC channel and the show playing at the time was called Extreme Couponing. I didn't watch the whole thing, I wanted to though. I also been watching little clips of it at the TLC website. Now they don't call it "extreme" for nothing. This is what inspired me to start clipping coupons and there are TONS of blogs out there dedicated to coupons and store deals.

Before I've been following blogs that lists deals and freebies, I love getting freebies in my mailbox! I always loved saving money especially on brand name products and I would often shop at Big Lots, the .99 cent store, TJMAXX, and Dollar Tree.

So three weeks ago I got really sick, I had really high fever. I slept all day and all night and couldn't get out of bed, my BF would come over before or after he had work and brought me medicine and gatorade. That made me feel better and I realized that when you're sick, it's hard for you to go to the store and buy stuff you need. Now that I feel a 100% better, I thought I should clip coupons and while stuff are on sale now, I should stock up. I now have a mini stockpile of tissue boxes, cough drops and powerade. I'll be ready next time I get sick, hopefully it won't be for a long time.

Ok I'm gonna post my favorite blogs about freebies and couponing, they will be on the right side bar. The top stores are: Target, Walgreens, CVS and Walmart to name a few that you can use coupons and even stack them! As far as drugstores go, I hardly stop foot in CVS and Walgreens until I heard about this whole couponing, now I go there almost every week.

Plus, if you have a Chase credit card, this quarter (Jan-Mar) you earn 5% cash back for items you buy in drugstores!! You have to go to Chase.com and enroll every quarter though.

What I always say, every little bit helps. :) Good luck if you decide to take up couponing.
